Meet Wiz Khalifa at Trulieve Shops in Pittsburgh on Wiz Khalifa Day

December 13, 2022 · Celeb Stoner

Born in North Dakota, Wiz Khalifa ended up in PIttsburgh in 1996 at age nine when he mother moved the family there. He was known as Cameron Thomaz then. At 15, he changed his moniker to Khalifa and a few years later would start his career as a successful, pro-cannabis rapper.

Today it’s Wiz Khaifa Day as declared by the PIttsburgh City Council. He’s in Pennsylvania to promote the rollout of his Khalifa Kush products at Trulieve stores. Khalifa will be at Trulieve Washington from 2-2:30 pm and Trulieve Pittsburgh from 3:30-4 pm. Trulieve is one of the largest multi-state operators in the country.

Yesterday, when he visted Trulieve Squirrel Hill-Pittsburgh, Khalifa told KDKA-TV: “We’re working every day, man. Things are changing and people are starting to see it the way that it should be. It’s a place now that it’s never been before. So we’re just happy to be moving forward… We’re just movin’ and groovin’.”

The KDKA reporter pointed out that Khaifa can’t enter any Pennsylvania dispensaries because he doesn’t have a medical card in the state. The “Black & Yellow” performer lives in Los Angeles.

The Khalifa-Trulieve partnership was announced in Florida, where the company is based, in September. At the time, he said: “I’ve always been driven to create art and products that change people’s perceptions or offer different experiences, so to me Khalifa Kush is a big part of that. Trulieve is the perfect partner for us because of its commitment to providing the highest quality products and best possible patient experiences.”

Khalifa is on the bill for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2023 on ABC. Will he light up? (Full Story)
