Drew Barrymore Named Best Host by MTV for Her Daytime Show

May 9, 2023 · CelebStoner

Drew Barrymore won the Best Host trophy at the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards on May 7.

The CelebStoner has helmed The Drew Barrymore Show on CBS for the last three years.

“Thank you for letting me in,” she said in her video acceptance speech, “to get eyeball to eyeball… thank you from us and me.”

Her druggy upbringing in the legendary Barrymore family is well documented. Drew started drinking and smoking at a very young age. Coke came next and then rehab.

But she never has stopped using cannabis, it would appear. Barrymore’s been quoted saying, “I’ve smoked marijuana most of my adult life.”

In 2007, she was famously photographed passing a joint to fellow CelebStoner Cameron Diaz on a beach in Hawaii.

Barrymore (Erin) smokes a bong with Justin Long (Garret) in Nanette Burnstein;s 2010 film Going the Distance

However, after her divorce from Will Kopelman in 2016, she spent another stint in in rehab for alcohol abuse. According to The Detox Center in L.A., “Substance abuse ran in the family. Barrymore’s father, actor John Drew Barrymore, was a violent alcoholic.”

Today, she no longer drinks but likely dabbles with edibles.

Barrymore is No. 13 on Ranker‘s “60+ Celebities Who Smoke Weed” list.

Plus: Cocaine Bear received two MTV nominations – one for “The Bear” in the Best Villain category and the other to Jesse Tyler Ferguson for Most Frightening Performance. He plays a parks employee in the campy horror film. Both lost.  (Full Story)
